The obstacle faced in teaching Partial Differential Equations is the lack of available reference books. The number of textbooks on partial differential equations in university libraries is still limited, especially the partial differential equation books in the Indonesian edition are still rare, so many students find it difficult to get these reference materials.

     Based on the above reality and the experience of giving lectures on partial differential equations both in the Mathematics Education Study Program of FKIP University of Jember and other similar study programs, the author presents partial differential equations. This book is a textbook for the Partial Differential Equation course with a weight of 3 credits given in fifth semester. To study this book, students are expected to understand the concepts of differential, integral and Ordinary Differential Equations. It is hoped that after taking this course, students will be able to apply the concept of partial differential equations in daily life.

Studying partial differential equations and their applications includes the formulation of equations, the classification and characterization of equations and problems with different types and the search for solutions. In this textbook, all of these aspects are discussed which are described from the Semester Learning Plan (RPS) of the Partial Differential Equation course into 5 chapters, where in each sub-chapter an example is given and at the end of each chapter is given practice questions in the hope that students can further develop their applications In addition, this book is also enriched with examples of applications whose visualization uses application programs such as Maple and MATLAB.
